Like most people who work with seniors, I have a deeply personal story that started me on this journey. When I was in graduate school, I was fortunate to live just a short distance from where I grew up in Michigan. My grandmother, who we called “Mimi,” had moved back home and was nearing the end of her life journey. As weeks turned into days and days into hours, I had the incredible opportunity to be by her side, help with her care, and hold her hand until she took her last breath. That experience profoundly changed the trajectory of my education, professional career, and how I viewed aging; I switched from specializing in working with children to working with seniors THE VERY NEXT DAY. Fast forward 30 years of working in senior care AND being given the gift to help take care of both of my parents as their lives came to a close, I knew that there needed to be a better – more comprehensive, integrated, and proactive way to approach aging. Every senior needs – and deserves – an opportunity to discuss, plan, and create a road map that reflects who they are and what they want in their aging, living, and dying journey. Every senior is worthy of a cohesive plan consisting of programs, services, and people to help:
- Increase Quality of Life
- Help manage Chronic Conditions
- Advocate and Educate on Their Behalf
- Guide and Support A Life’s Journey
I created Senior Care Navigation out of a passion to help create a better living experience, a more robust quality of life, and a desire to minimize crisis intervention with those I work with to the best of my ability. I want each senior to have a personalized Aging-In-Place Plan that guides them and their loved ones on their unique path.
We are honored to work with every senior we partner with and are thrilled you have chosen us as your solution for healthy aging!
